Building on the expertise of more than four decades, Schmelzmetall is well versed to manufacture special copper alloys in vacuum. This sophisticated production processes guarantees a high uniformity of our alloys. The Schmelzmetall Deutschland GmbH wants now to improve their productivity in their manufacturing and started a pilot project together with Arrow Engineering Oy. The eight week pilot should provide first-hand experience in dealing with an automatic real-time capture of the relevant machine data. The objectives of this pilot project are recognizing the optimization potentials during the production. This requires a detailed gathering of all incident and waiting reasons during cycle times of the machines. All errors during the production and occurring still-stands are collected, so that bottlenecks can be recognized and to reach internally a cost reduction.
